Over the next few months we’re completing a process started a year ago to upgrade our VPS Hosting Platforms to current generation brand name equipment.

To these ends the last of our 2023 VPS server upgrades comes online in December 2023 and its install completes our Hosting Platform Upgrades project that’s run over the last year.

From here we’ll see how these new servers bed down into our operations and then plan the next wave of Server Upgrades from there in 2024!

We’ve moved our Operations Notices from the Twitter @netpresops to our own ops.networkpresence.co blog site.

We’ll post articles there just like we posted outage notices and other operational issues to the Twitter feed, with comments used to followup on each posted issue.

During the weekend of Saturday late afternoon & evening of February 25th and Sunday the 26th we will be performing upgrades to selected hosting server platforms & one of our network uplinks of Network Presence in Sydney, Australia.

Customers with services (VPS) on the hosting platforms to be upgraded may be emailed advisory notices, and this is a general notice related to other ancillary upgrades and Infrastructure Maintenance being performed during this scheduled window of time.

This Maintenance Window starts from 5pm on the Saturday afternoon, through to 6am Sydney time on the morning of Sunday February 26th 2023, and I’ll be personally contactable by phone & online during and after these works in-case there’s any issues that arise.

During this Maintenance Window, selected network or server equipment will be worked on, upgraded and restarted. Works will be completed as quickly as possible (and where possible, timing information will be in emails to affected customers) and restarts are short service interruptions only, while upgrades may incur longer service interruptions.

This will incur outages to selected hosting services of Network Presence in Sydney, Australia during this off-peak scheduled works period.In addition, there may be some impact (short 5-10 minute periods) to the general Internet Connectivity of portions of Network Presence in Sydney during these works, though redundant routing will be utilised during these works.
Our Adelaide POP is unaffected by this Maintenance Notice and works.

Over the next few months we’re upgrading a number of our VPS Hosting Nodes in our Sydney and Adelaide POPs. These Upgrades entail new hardware for many customer VPS and at some point in this process VPS will need to be stopped on their old node and started on the new one.

To these ends we’ve got the first batch of new server platforms coming online in Sydney before Christmas 2022 and more in early 2023, and customers are being migrated to them as requested or required by their usage profiles.

There’s also new servers coming online in our Adelaide POP, along with more network capacity for that location.

Progressively over the end of 2022 and the months of early to mid 2023, we’ll let customers know whenever the upgrades affect their VPS.
