Price Drop on Over-quota Bandwidth Usage

We’ve deployed significant Internet connectivity upgrades over the last couple of months (more links, more redundancy as well as more capacity) and we can now pass this on to customers in the form of a drop in our “Over-Quote Bandwidth Usage” fee, which was 44 cents inc GST (AU$) and is now 25 cents per GigaByte inc GST.

What’s more, we only consider your ‘highest data usage direction’ in charging for network usage, so for example if you have a 200GB monthly network traffic quota on your VPS Plan and you have incoming data usage of 200GB in a month, as well as outgoing data usage of 200GB in the same month, we won’t charge you any over-quota traffic fees for that month.

We believe that our network quotas (on plans which have them) are large anyway, but now any cost to customers of exceeding their network quota is reduced, while at the same time being able to take advantage of our more diverse Internet connectivity available within our network.

Of course, as has been our policy for sometime, we only meter or charge network usage fees on “Transit” traffic and “Peered” data transferred through any of our many domestic Australian Peering Links (gigabits of bandwidth available over multiple Peering Links) is un-metered and un-charged.

Please feel free to contact us with any queries on this price drop for over-quota network traffic usage.

Regards,
Richard.
