NOTE: This is old, we no longer have direct un-metered connectivity to AARNet, not since 2015.
We’ve worked hard during 2011 to secure some truely excellent Australian Internet Peering connectivity from our network base in Sydney and Canberra, gaining access to various peering networks across the country, from Perth to Brisbane and many niche, older and newer peering points between those cities on either side of Australia.
In combination with our “Peering Traffic is Unmetered” policies and capabilities across our network, this “Big Peering” capacity of Network Presence is useful for high bandwidth and low cost data transfer across Australia and particularly between cities and Industries. eg: we have full national peering connectivity with AARNet and CSIRO, providing excellent and high speed access to Australian Universities and our leading national science agency.
Of course all major ISPs of Australia (excluding Telstra and Optus, who refuse to peer domestically (except to eachother)) are reached by the peering links of Network Presence, as well as parts of Google incl. Youtube, CacheFly etc, and our aim for 2012 is to extend this peering capability of Nework Presence to major Asian Internet Peering points and further.
If you need to move data quickly from most of Australia to the Internet or back to another Australian network, we can often provide the “nexus” between those Australian networks and do so for a good low cost.
