Understanding Cassandra’s Datamodel

I’ve done a bit of development around Cassandra this year, after having read the book on it (http://www.amazon.com/Cassandra-Definitive-Guide-Eben-Hewitt/dp/1449390412/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312331422&sr=8-1) and then using it to store our NetFlow data for a week or so earlier in 2011.

So I found this “grok Cassandra’s datamodel” post to be a good refresher & reminder about the capabilities & nature of Cassandra, particularly as a replacement (in a ‘NoSQL’ context, which is how I trialled Cassandra) for MySQL & such.

Out of my Cassandra works came the “Cassandra ApplianceVPS Plan of Network Presence as well, so if you’re interested in a Cassandra dev/test or production server, please feel free to contact me.
