We keep visits to a minimum at the “Lights Out Mode” data centre POP of Network Presence in Sydney, but we want to upgrade a number of hosting platforms at this main POP and this work requires us to physically attend the Data Centre (Equinix in Sydney) to perform actions which are highly technical & specific to the hardware and systems of Network Presence.
These works during the late evening of Tuesday, May 15th and the early hours of Wednesday, May 16th, will see some older hosting platforms of Network Presence replaced by new servers purchased recently from Dell, and will pass on to customers on those older servers significant performance upgrades, including memory, CPU & disk updates. Customers that are hosted on the older platforms that are to be replaced/decommissioned will be emailed shortly with information specific to their service and when downtime is planned to occur during these upgrade works.
Others customers may be affected by short restarts etc that will occur during this Maintenance Window, which starts from ~10pm Sydney time on this coming Tuesday evening (May 15th 2012). Each customer is not expected to see longer than a few short outages (during the evening) of connectivity to or operation of their VPS or other service from Network Presence, and I’ll be contactable by phone & online during and after these works incase there’s any issues that arise.
FYI and regards,
Richard.
