Next wave of Bigger VPS Hosting Platforms coming soon

It’s been 3 months since we last posted that we had “More, Bigger” VPS Hosting platforms online and I enjoy seeing what new and faster hardware I can get a few times each year, and at the moment we’re looking at some (more) new Dell chassis again, aiming to have them online in July.

This keeps us “ahead of the curve” of customer performance requirements and our longterm established high service levels, and will provide some extra capabilities related to Cloud Computing Platforms eg: OpenShift and other Big Data & Big Server related large storage arrays.

I’ll update this post as these new servers come available for customers.

FYI and it’s good to continue these regular 3 monthly new server provisioning growth for Network Presence,
Richard.

If your IP or VPS goes offline, we can tweet you about it

We can now provide customers with a free service whereby we’ll tweet via a customer’s authorised (using Twitter’s OAuth process) twitter feed or user whenever a server or service of the customer is found to be offline from within our network.

One of our internal Nagios monitoring servers is linked to our private @netpresops2 Twitter account in this way and we can do similar at no charge for Network Presence customers, to tweet as a newly created private Twitter account, if they’re IP address or VPS goes down (for example).

There are other ways that this capability can be utilised by customers, so please contact us if you’re interested.

Dedicated Colo Physical Servers

Building on our years of experience running brand-name server chassis in Australia’s best Data Centres, we’ve recently refreshed and updated our “Dedicated Colo” server plans.

These Dedicated Colo Plans provide a physical server chassis at either our Sydney or Canberra Data Centre racks, on DC power and utilising Australia’s best connectivity, for you to install and run your chosen software and we have 3 levels of these ‘Dedicated Colocation’ server chassis plan available:

Dedicated Colo #1 Plan includes 2TB of Data transferred with an Intel quad-core CPU, 8GB of RAM and 2 x 500GB 10,000RPM hard drives, billed monthly with a min. of 3 months term.

Dedicated Colo #2 Plan includes 5TB of Data transferred on dual Ethernet links, with dual Intel quad-core Xeon E5620 CPUs (8 physical CPU ‘Cores’), 24GB of RAM and 2 x 1TB SAS Enterprise-grade hard drives, provisioned in a Dell R400 series chassis, billed monthly on monthly terms.

Dedicated Colo #3 Plan includes 5TB of Data transferred on dual Ethernet links, with dual Intel quad-core Xeon E5620 CPUs (8 physical CPU ‘Cores’), 32GB of RAM and 2 x 2TB SAS Enterprise-grade hard drives, provisioned in a Dell R400 series chassis, billed monthly on monthly terms.

All these Dedicated Colo Plans include a gigabit rated ethernet uplink (the Dedi Colo #2 and #3 Plans include a 2nd 100Mbps ethernet port, notionally to connect the ‘chassis management’ controller, known as the “iDRAC” in the high-end Dell chassis of these Plans), with dual IP addresses (additional IP addresses at $1/IP/month), along with TeraBytes of data transfer and high-powered CPUs coupled with fast RAM and large Disks on the higher end plans.
