Steam on PCs installs by default to C:\\Steam and you can fill that drive with the big sized games nowadays, but I\u2019ve found that it\u2019s very easy (in Windows 7\/Vista) to move Steam to another drive and setup a Windows \u201clink\u201d folder so that the installed Steam software still uses C:\\Steam, even though the files are on another drive!<\/p>\n
The steps are:<\/p>\n
– Move C:\\Steam to the other drive (say E:\\Steam). ie: copy C:\\Steam to E:\\ then delete C:\\Steam<\/p>\n
– Run \u2018cmd.exe\u2019 as Administrator & type the following commands into the Command window:<\/p>\n
cd \u201cC:\\Program Files\u201d<\/p>\n
mklink \/J Steam E:\\Steam<\/p>\n
– reboot & test<\/p>\n
