{"id":2753,"date":"2013-01-15T05:52:45","date_gmt":"2013-01-15T12:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.networkpresence.co\/?p=2753"},"modified":"2013-01-15T06:01:25","modified_gmt":"2013-01-15T13:01:25","slug":"data-centre-pop-maintenance-notice-from-10pm-fri-feb-2nd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.networkpresence.co\/?p=2753","title":{"rendered":"Data Centre &#038; POP Maintenance Notice \u2013 from 10pm, Fri, Feb 1st"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We keep visits to a minimum at the \u201cLights Out Mode\u201d main data centre POP of Network Presence in Sydney, but we want to deploy new hardware and software to this main POP and this work requires us to physically attend the Data Centre (Equinix in Sydney) to perform actions which are highly technical &#038; specific to the hardware and systems of Network Presence.<\/p>\n<p>These upgrades include software and hardware updates to give Network Presence a \u201cleg up\u201d in capacity, including memory, CPU &#038; network upgrades. For example, I\u2019ll be installing and commissioning upgraded Routers &#038; Switches to the POP, which will result in more 10Gb Ethernet network connections for server and storage interconnects, as well as physical diverse network connectivity in Sydney and more Virtualisation Hosting Servers.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, I\u2019ll be emailing all customers who may be affected by the short restarts etc that will occur during this Maintenance Window, which starts from ~10pm Sydney time on the evening of Friday February 1st, 2013.
