There’s a lot of problems hosting the modern requirements (both network and system/server) of online game servers, and many hosting providers have left the domestic (Australian) market due to these issues.
However we’ve always offered hosting for game servers, and in Q3 2013 we began an Infrastructure Project to be able to meet demand for quality and reliable online hosting for game servers (VPS and Colo), while doing so in a manner that kept the Corporate and Commercial customers of Network Presence on separate network and server hosting platform facilities to those utilised for online gaming.
This has led to significantly more network capabilities (including redundancy) for Network Presence in Sydney (based at the Equinix Data Centre in Mascot) and has provided for a fleet of VPS Hosting servers deployed to accommodate VPS customers who wish to run online game server software on their VPS at Network Presence.
This is currently an ongoing deployment and I’ll post more information as network and server capacity is updated for these and other non-gaming customers.
More info for 2015 & onwards is that we’ve been including DDOS Mitigation etc to our Game Server Networks for some time now already and that will continue in 2015 and onwards.
FYI and regards,
Richard.
